Business as a Force for Good

Business as a Force for Good

We believe business should be a force for good, which extends beyond championing product sustainability. We are rigorous about ethical practices across our supply chains, for our people, and on behalf of our customers, whilst instilling a forward-thinking attitude to continuously improve.

Net Zero Programme

Developing a net zero programme is an integral part of our commitment to the environment and to responsible business. This work supports our customers in meeting their own net zero targets and demonstrates our dedication to reducing our impact.

We have measured our scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and have set net zero targets and interim targets for all three scopes. Our overall net zero target date of 2045, and interim scope 1 and 2 target of 42% reduction by 2030 have also been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Although not yet mandated for companies of our size, we hope that our carbon emissions measurement and reductions will inspire other manufacturers to take decisive action.

Alongside sustainability consultants, Inspired Plc, we are developing our net zero programme by:

  • calculating our scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions annually
  • developing and implementing carbon reduction strategies
  • raising our ambition on carbon action
  • increasing our data collection and calculation accuracy
Responsible Manufacturing

Responsible Manufacturing

It is important to us that we reduce the impact of our manufacturing on nature and climate where possible. Examples of ways we do this include recycling our offcut board waste and utilising 100% renewable energy to power our factory.

We are also working with Inspired to calculate our carbon footprint and develop a net zero strategy. Understanding our carbon impact is just one of the ways to ensure we continue to produce responsibly and operate at the cutting edge of policy and legislation.

Driving Continuous Improvement

Driving Continuous Improvement

We have an agile manufacturing facility which means we can quickly adapt our processes to create custom food packaging. This also means that we can easily make changes to increase the efficiency of our factory and design so that we can do more with less.

Our accreditations, including ISO 14001, demonstrate our drive to highly achieve in compliance across safety and environmental performance. We are committed to this for our colleagues, customers, and planet.

Sustainability is embedded in all elements of our business. We actively encourage each other to take more environmentally conscious decisions and manage change and progress through our “green” team. This includes collaboration from different areas of our business to improve our environmental credentials.

Support for Local Wildlife

Support for Local Wildlife

Our site in Flitwick is opposite Folly Wood, part of Flitwick Moor; the largest wetland in Bedfordshire and one of the Bedfordshire, Cambridge, and Northamptonshire Wildlife Trusts’ most important conservation sites.

We are very lucky to have such a valued area of nature opposite our UK site, so we avidly support the protection of it. We are a long-standing corporate member of the BCN Wildlife Trust. We even developed compostable BCN Wildlife Trust patented packs, our Appealable range, that include an image of the beautiful Folly Wood.
