Colpac has once again been awarded one of the packaging industry’s highest accreditations – the BRCGS Packaging Materials Standard certification.
Significantly, while retaining its AA grade for the fifth year running, the highest possible grade achievable (for announced audits), Colpac were audited against the BRCGS Packaging Materials standard – Issue 6. The company were also one of the first to be audited successfully against a new part of the standard, clause 1.1.2 (Product safety and quality culture) which came into effect in February 2021.
This clause was relatively straightforward for Colpac to prepare for, as a strong positive culture of product safety and quality was already well established within the company. These existing cultural values were built upon using various tools, including a staff survey, followed by a SWOT analysis, which were the basis of a revised plan to drive further ongoing cultural improvements.
Colpac achieved zero non-conformances across the two-day audit process. The BRCGS Standard for Packaging materials is viewed as a global benchmark of quality, safety, and legality for food packaging manufacture.
As a globally renowned designer and manufacturer of food packaging solutions, achieving the best possible outcome from the annual accreditation is testament to Colpac’s commitment to quality.
“We are delighted to report this result and the outcome is attributable to the hard work and efforts of all employees across the sites and recognition is most definitely due to everyone involved,” comments Compliance & QA Manager Frances Dickman.
